DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Deposits will be applied towards the final cost of your tattoo at your final session unless your deposit is forfeited. Deposits are forfeited if you no-show for an appointment, cancel with less than 48 hours advance notice, arrive for an appointment more than 30 minutes late without calling ahead, arrive intoxicated or otherwise unable to be tattooed, request excessive or last minute changes to the design or concept, or decide not to get tattooed at all. If you forfeit a deposit, you may be required to leave a new deposit before booking any new appointment(s). Deposits may not be transferred to another person or for use with a different tattooer. In the unforeseen circumstance that your desired artist no longer affiliates with our studio, your deposit will be honored by another artist employed by Clean Slate. Deposits are specific to Clean Slate Tattoo Studio and not the artist. 


Yes we do offer gift certificates! Whether it is a birthday, holiday, or just a celebration, gift certificates are the perfect option for any tattoo or piercing lover! Gift certificates do expire one year after the date it was purchased.


Jewelry Refunds/Exchanges 

For your safety and the safety of others, all jewelry is final sale. Piercing services and jewelry change charges are non-refundable. While we hope you fall in love with your jewelry, we also offer jewelry changes as a way to make sure it is the right fit. Changing jewelry can be uncomfortable and exhausting. That is why we are here to help.

We reserve the right to deny any unreasonable returns or exchanges, such as on items that have been worn, damaged, or altered.


Jewelry Change Policy 

For the health of your piercing and the longevity of your jewelry, we strongly recommend having one of our professional piercers perform all jewelry changes. 

When our team changes your jewelry, we will:

  • Ensure the jewelry is the correct size and fit for your anatomy and healing stage. 
  • Inspect the piercing for irritation, swelling, or potential issues
  • Use sterile techniques and professional tools
  • Help prevent damage to your jewelry and piercing 
  • Verify all threaded or threadless ends are properly secured

Please note:

Jewelry that is bent, stripped, damaged, lost, or broken while being inserted or removed at home is not covered under our return, exchange, or warranty policy. 


Many jewelry issues occur from:

  • Cross-threading jewelry
  • Over-tightening ends
  • Bending threadless pins incorrectly
  • Using improper tools 
  • Inserting jewelry at the wrong angle


Our team is happy to assist with jewelry changes to help protect both your piercing and your investment. 


Outside Jewelry 

Due to sterilization concerns, we do not pierce using jewelry that is not our jewelry. However, you are welcome to bring in your existing jewelry from the studio and consult with a piercer to see if it can be sterilized and used for a new piercing.
